Review of The Green Mile (1999) by Shane B — 09 Jan 2015
Many are quick to say The Shawshank Redemption is among their favorite films of all time, but I often look to Frank Darabont's follow up "The Green Mile" as a movie that sticks in my mind and has done so since I first saw it.
It's a beautiful movie that deals with the justice system and death row, questioning humanity but in a hopeful way. Powerful performances by Tom Hanks and Michael Clarke Duncan, as well as Doug Hutchinson who plays one of the most annoying characters ever put to screen.
I loved the characters, loved the direction the story went, and found the ending to be powerful and emotional. Underrated by comparison to Shawshank, but an incredible movie nonetheless.
