Review of The Green Mile (1999) by David S — 02 Jul 2013
The Green Mile is a very delicately created film that pin-points and develops characters into great roles of importance. Either good or evil, each character is represented perfectly by their actor, whether it's Michael Clarke Duncan (RIP), or Sam Rockwell.
These actors, along with near-perfect script writing and directing, absorb the viewer into a world of injustice, human suffering, and victimization. Playing with the line of paranormal, John Coffey represents a supernatural being of good, whilst Wild Bill represents the polar opposite.
These two characters use the wardens to express their own views of society and each plays an important part in depicting what people are capable of. Darabont has created a masterpiece with the Green Mile and commendation is the least he deserves for such work.
