Review of The Green Knight (2021) by Beardedyoda — 31 Jul 2021

The Green Knight will almost certainly be a divisive topic for film buffs and movie-goers for a period of time. The film is very different from most movies, even including A24 films. However, it is of my opinion that The Green Knight is a beautiful work of art that not only looks gorgeous, but also has a well written main character and meaningful themes that have been woven through out the films two hour run time.

This film is definitely meant for a niche audience, but if you have heard about The Green Knight and want to check it out, I absolutely recommend you do so and form your own opinion of it. Words of warning though, much like the types of ancient medieval literature the film was based on, there is more of an emphasis on the main character and themes in the story, rather than a focus on why and how things happen in the story.

This is a change in direction that is sure to turn some people off of the film, but I grew to appreciate it and hope you will too.
