Review of The Green Inferno (2013) by Luke K — 29 Oct 2015
With terrible acting, bland dialogue, and countless attempts at both comedic relief and transgressive gore and brutality that all falls flat, The Green Inferno finds Eli Roth at his least compelling and exciting.
The character interactions always feel off and overly rigid, and I was constantly asking myself whether this was intentional or not, since surely after all these years Roth should know how to write basic believable dialogue.
The film is put together very poorly, and the violence and events are depicted without an ounce of suspense. Although I admittedly have never been a major fan of Roth's work, I have always found his films entertaining at the least.
This time, I found myself painfully bored and consistently waiting for the film to come to its underwhelming conclusion.
