Review of The Green Butchers (2003) by Bill B — 22 May 2009
I love black comedy and I love films from Denmark, But I feel something is missing from this one. Maybe the idea , maybe the characters, something was not suitable. The story of two butchers they accidentaly feed with human meet their costumers and became popular. But the truth is that this film never gets to be really funny... Or too dark...
PLUS: Camera movements, rare genre.
MINUS: Story, Actors, Characters, Incomplete in overall.
BEST SCENE: The dialog between Bjarne and the girl on the seaside at night.
BJARNE: He really ate his wife?
GIRL: Yes. The airplane crushed on a mountain. He was the only one who survived. The rest were dead.
BJARNE:He survived eating his wife?
GIRL:Yes.
BJARNE: Why not the others?
