Review of The Green Berets (1968) by Larry D — 25 Jan 2009
John Wayne's jingoistic take on American involvement in the Vietnam War is, for all its faults, still an enjoyable film with something for everyone. From the rousing theme-song and the action scenes to the cutesy moments with the injured Vietnamese girl and Ham Chuck.
You've seen better, but you'll see a whole lot worse and I challenge you not to get a lump in your throat at the final scene!
