Review of The Greatest Showman (2017) by Daniel%20 K — 05 Mar 2018
I really loved this movie! My daughter and I have been to it three times. The music is uplifting, it's a great family story, and just an all around feel good movie. The critics didn't seem to like it, but the heart and soul each of the actors, the director, and the composers put into the movie is clear.
The music doesn't fit the time period of the late 1800's, but I heard an interview with the composers that they tried to make each song embody the characters who sang them. To me, the music didn't feel out of place at all.
All around wonderful experience and I really appreciated Hugh Jackman's portrayal of P. T. Barnum. Note: this movie is inspired by Barnum's life and imagination, so don't expect a true biography of his life!
