Review of The Greatest Showman (2017) by Kristin B — 18 Apr 2018
It was ok. The grand musical numbers wear beautiful, but the music itself was lacking for my taste. Many of the characters that needed to be developed for us to care about them simply weren't. The freaks in particular, who were so important to the story, were flat characters with few lines.
The dubbing of Rebbeca Ferguson was distracting and for being the "best singer in the world" at that time, they should have dubbed her with someone better. Her songs were particularly un-spectacular.
Style over substance in this beautiful but flat film.
