Review of The Greatest Showman (2017) by Flexedacorn — 29 Dec 2017
The greatest showman is now the 2nd Musical I have seen in theaters ( 1st being La La Land). I liked them both for different reasons. Where La La Land focused more on a compelling narrative, The Greatest Showman was all about the spectacle of the grand stage, loud music and catchy lyrics.
I felt it had the right balance of story and music so as to keep a good pace throughout the viewing. The actors/actresses were all well cast; I really enjoyed the scenes with both Hugh Jackman and Zach Efron.
I would recommend this film to anyone that enjoys musicals. Though the movie has a few serious messages about diversity and social acceptance, it’s for the most part all fun. If you are looking for a historically accurate bio pic of PT Barnum, chances are you will come out disappointed.
Overall it was a good family film.
