Review of The Great Ziegfeld (1936) by Byron B — 15 Mar 2013
In style, with its lush photography and majestic sets as well as some ambitious musical numbers, it represents the greatness of the golden age of Hollywood. As a biopic it's seriously lacking in accuracy, while its narrative is intent on making it seem like a minor musical.
