I personally liked it, but I also grew up watching hyper unrealistic kungfu soap operas with my mom growing up. The kind that spanned across 10 VHS tapes, in which she rented all the time The writing is similar to those to me, very quick and abrupt conversations.
I think this moving is catered more from the Asian market, than the American market. For this reason, I think it won't do well here, but amazing in Asia. The visuals were stunning, and the fight seens were very a-typical of a Chinese kungfu-ish fiction movie.
Huge Asian stars to boot.
