Review of The Great Raid (2005) by Derek G — 17 Sep 2009
The consensus is right. Any movie that you can fast forward through and know you aren't missing anything is not a movie worth watching. The casting was not very good. James Franco is not a convincing leader. He seemed out of place. The actual raid is the only good part of the movie. That part was great. But is it worth paying money to see it? I don't think so. Maybe if you happen to see it for free on t.v. on a Saturday afternoon when nothing else is on might it be worthwhile. This is coming from someone that loves war movies. Want to see a GOOD true-story POW movie? Watch the Great Escape.
The Great Raid was cliche, contrived and uninspiring.
