Review of The Great Race (1965) by Rodney E — 14 Oct 2008
Comedy gold that set the standard for all of those wacky race cartoons. Blake Edwards delivers an epic comedy masterpiece with a great Henry Mancini score. Here we have Tony Curtis as the Amazing Leslie in a race by car against Jack Lemmon and a bumbling Peter Falk as Professor Fate and Max.
Each comedic bit is gold and is a wonderful live action cartoon that is hilarious. Jack Lemmon is absolute gold in this. The Great Race also features the greatest pie fight ever.
