Review of The Great Mouse Detective (1986) by Clint D — 26 Dec 2010
Definitely one of the first in Disney's new wave of classics in the late eighties/nineties. Basil of Baker Street is essentially Sherlock Holmes and Dawson is Watson but it's their client, Olivia, that makes most of the best moments in the film.
The animation was cutting edge for its time but casting Vincent Price as the voice of Prof. Ratigan was their biggest stroke of genius.
