Review of The Great Mouse Detective (1986) by Renzo V — 15 Nov 2014
"BASIL OF BAKERSTREET AND PROFESSOR RATIGAN".
- 'The Great Mouse Detective' is a 1986 animated mystery film produced by Walt Disney Pictures. The story was inspired by the character of Sherlock Holmes, created by Arthur Canon Doyle. It's pure nostalgia when watching this movie back. It proves that even as a kid I loved a good mystery. But how can you not love a movie with great characters and an epic adventure! With the voice of Vincent Price as Professor Ratigan.
Mouse doctor David Q. Dawson returns to London to settle down. In an alley he stumbles upon the young Olivia Flaversham, who is crying because she witnessed her father being abducted by a bat with a wooden leg. Because she's lost and wants to find the famous detective Basil of Bakerstreet, Dawson is determined to help her out. On hearing Olivia's story, Basil is sure that her father has fallen into the hands of Professor Ratigan (Price), the most evil creature in London...
