Review of The Great Mouse Detective (1986) by Claire L — 21 Feb 2011
Ill gladly admit it, this is MY FAVORITE animated film ever. I absolutely loved it and still do, its animation is nice, smooth and colorful, a great voice cast and a big plus the break out for Ron Clements and John Musker, who became the two that signaled the Disney Renaissance when the two directed The Little Mermaid.
Ive yet to hear a cast put so much energy into there roles since ive gotten older, but two I must single out are Barrie Ingham (famous for being one of the incarnations of Dr. Who) and the late great Vincent Price whom said this was his favorite role.
Miyazaki may make films that come close to sitting high with this, but The Great Mouse Detective for me at least aged well, watched it the other day and memories came back, and ill be glad to let my children see this.
When will THIS be re-released!?
