Review of The Great Gatsby (2013) by Panayiota K — 12 Oct 2015
I had to wait a day before writing this review because I was numb when the film ended. Really lovely film with intensity. I loved the atmosphere (since the director is the same it reminded me of Moulin Rouge which I also love), the soundtrack, the scenery, DiCaprio and Mulligan who were perfect together.
Even if you don't like them, a lot of scenes/stories/themes are realistic, especially the ending. Didn't care much for Tobey Maguire though (maybe I had Moulin Rouge in my mind because I still think that Ewan Mcgregor would have been better).
The casting for young Leonardo was perfect though.
