Review of The Great Gatsby (2013) by Raven B — 17 Apr 2015
The first time I saw the trailer, I was drawn, and I knew I had to see it. Then I saw the movie. I didn't really know what to feel. It was visually spectacular, just like I'd known it would be.
But as far as the story, the character development, and how everything went down, I just didn't know what to say. I was a little disappointed because I think I was expecting Gatsby to be something other than what he was.
But as I sat and thought, I actually began to see the genius behind the movie and everything about it. And then I felt myself wanting to cry because I had just experienced one of the most beautiful stories ever written.
It was captivating, it was mysterious, it was beautiful. And now I am not disappointed the last bit. The 2013 remake of The Great Gatsby has become one of my all time favorite movies.
