Review of The Great Escape (1963) by Edmund C — 10 Feb 2015
My first viewing of a Steve McQueen film. It's about Allied soldiers who tunnel out of a Nazi prison camp during WWII..and it's a true story! Unfortunately it's not all's well ends well, yet the film runs with an ironically lighthearted tone, underscored by Yankee marching tunes.
It's an honor to see Richard Attenborough in action! (he passed away a few months ago). Also features other familiar faces like James Garner and Charles Bronson.
