Great movie, one of my favorites. the actual escape was portrayed as it really happened in real life. the producer/directors took liberties with the rest of the movie however. Steve McQueen actually does the stunts on the motorcycle on his own.

for himself and the scenes where the Germans are chasing him. this was of course back when actors and actresses were men. and they loved and were proud of thier country and appreciated that it gave them the opportunity to be payed sick sums of money to act, not like these over privledged, hater, baby killing cockroaches that infest Commywood today.
