Review of The Great Dictator (1940) by Cara R — 16 Aug 2009
This is yet another cinematic classic from charlie chaplin, and he demonstrates his versatility and talent in both comedy and poignant political drama. the speech at the end is phenomenal, and touching, although dangerous, due to its controversy at the time.
despite this one being a talkie- his first real talkie, at that- the tramp still maintained the slapstick while struggling ever-so-routinely, and hilariously, with life and love.
