Review of The Great Dictator (1940) by Hillary D — 06 Jun 2012
I remember watching this film, after I saw the Hangover II, and around the end of this film, I pondered. ''Why arn't most, modern comedies has good as this? Is it because filmakers have gotten lazy, or stupid, or even both? Or has the modern viewers choice of comedy come from, not suble and clever jokes, but obvious ones.
Cough*Toliet humor*Cough. Just to not feel dumb?'' It's a perfect, well rounded film that uses a serious topic, interludes it with a comedic circumstance, combines it all, and makes something, not only funny, but impressive.
And who better then Charlie Chaplin to be at the helm for this title.
