Review of The Great Dictator (1940) by Wezul S — 09 Jul 2014
Chaplin has the unique talent to make you laugh & then immediately make you cry. Nowhere is this talent more visceral than in this film. A satire with heart that rouses the common decency in all of mankind, calling to action a disintegration of greed & a proposal of love.
This was in 1940, yet the message is timeless. Just like Charlie himself.
