Review of The Great Buck Howard (2008) by Josh R — 14 Nov 2009
This was a fun, cute movie about a washed-up mentalist who seems to be the only person left in the world who thinks his career is thriving, and how he inspires a law school dropout to find the path of his own life.
What could have been just a quirky throwaway movie is brought to life with John Malkovich's performance, which is simultaneously hilarious and heartbreaking. Much like the career of The Amazing Kreskin, whom the filmmakers credit as the inspiration, you will walk away from this very fun and enjoyable film believing in true magic.
