Review of The Great Beauty (2013) by Nguyen Thuy H — 24 Jan 2014
If Antonioni is still living and continuing to make films, this is probably the film that he would make. Hmmm, maybe not, because he probably doesn't use this kind of "epic" film score, he likes to torture the audiences with the emptiness of his characters and he is a persistent pessimist.
But you get the point. This is probably the most beautifully filmed feature since...maybe The Tree of Life. May it win the Oscar that it deserves.
