Review of The Great Beauty (2013) by Maressah S — 13 Feb 2014

The Great Beauty is a beautifully made film with quite a few great moments but in the end it doesn't really come together for me. The cinematography is gorgeous, the acting is great and the music is beautiful but in the end it doesn't come together for me.

..Now I don't mine a movie without a plot and I don't mind metaphors but with this movie I didn't find anything to take away from it...Now with many reviews I have read Federico Fellini keeps being brought up and unfortunately I am yet to see any of his films; I've been meaning too but either keep forgetting or just don't have the time though this movie does have me wanting to watch his work more.

In the end it is a good film but it just had very little impact on me; though I love the scene where cuts the very self-righteous lady down a few sizes, that scene was pure magic.
