Review of The Great Beauty (2013) by Joel D — 17 Feb 2014
Beautiful, engaging movie that probably works best for a man (or woman), who, like the lead character, is 65 years old or more. "Jep" is examining his life and what it means or has meant. Scenes often seem random and unrelated, but the montage somehow comes together.
Most disappointing to me is that Jep is not capable of maturing further, and even less capable of advising us. How then should we live? Booze and drug-infused parties, why of course. And for Jep I suppose that is the answer.
