Review of The Great Beauty (2013) by Eric A — 21 Feb 2014
Blah, blah, blah...the message of the movie, yet with other strands of the tapestry that deal with apathy, death, art, and the meaning of it all. Beautifully filmed and filled with so many Bunuel and Bergman strokes that you have filled yourself to the max.
Spoiler alert: Not the ending, but one moment from the movie defines it all. A woman who has painted herself red in various parts of her body and has embellished a Russian sickle emblem on her yoo hoo and she turns down a runway to only run her self against a brick wall.
This movie is up for the Academy Award. I hope something else wins.
