Review of The Great Beauty (2013) by Samir S — 26 Mar 2014
La Grande Bellezza (The Great Beauty) is a film that offers many open doors, its up to the films audience weather they should see what's behind them. Dazzling cinematography coats the entire two and a half hour film with a touching display of acting ability.
Its hard to say weather the film was good or just OK. The Great Beauty tests our idea of a good film by offering a buffet of interpretation, thought provoking scenes, and layered story telling. The warm shimmer of magic every director strives to capture, but can not be intentionally achieved, certainly echos throughout this film.
Paolo Sorrentino's film is not for everyone, but for the lucky one's its power will be felt.
