Masterfully shot and brilliantly costumed there is no doubt that The Great Beauty is a spectacle. However the characterization and plot left me hungry for much more than the single olive that was served.
Sometimes profound and hard hitting dialogue and camerawork is weighed on by the Dadaist visual and storytelling style.
