Review of The Gray Man (2007) by Tori C — 14 Apr 2010
A solid film about Albert Fish, the serial child molester/killer who claimed many victims int he early 20th century. What I liked about the film is that firstly it was one of the better serial killer films but also because it showed a lot of restraint and didnt sensationalise the murders at all (which could have been very easy since he was also a masacist and a cannibal), infact the only death you see onscreen is that of Fish himself.
As a result the film is more a look at the police investigation and also of the farcade that Fish projected and the reality behind it. My biggest qualm was that the guy playing Fish was trying to be a bit Hannibal Lectery with his voice and mannerisms, which is quite funny since Fish is was one of the inspirations for Lecter.
This is not a film for those wanting to see blood and gore but is a good addition to the true crime serial killler film.
