Not many movies can make you count your blessings quite like The Grapes of Wrath. Hopeful yet devastating, and brilliantly directed by John Ford (watch for an incredible, uninterrupted POV shot upon the family's arrival at the camp), it remains one of the great period dramas Hollywood has ever given us.
