Review of The Grandmaster (2013) by Tommy G — 21 May 2014
It has Kar Wai's visual poetry, and some of the fighting is truly a beauty to watch, but the narrative flounders and switches from Ip Mans to Gong Er's, relying on flashback. Too much reminiscing slows it down, and not for the better.
Still, hard pressed to find a more graceful representation of the martial arts.
