Review of The Grandmaster (2013) by Christopher S — 20 Mar 2014
If anyone is watching a Wong-Kay-Wai movie, it is important to keep in mind that the aesthetic makes most of it. That is the case here as the story falls a bit flat under the incredible beauty of the choreography of the fight sequences and the detail of the production design.
The scenes mixing special effects and live action are very well paced , so I was still very much entertained out of it. Basically, not the best story and narrative of all time, but a beautifully made movie.
