Review of The Grand Budapest Hotel (2014) by Tony D — 14 Feb 2015
This has been my favorite of the 2014 Best Picture oscar nominated films so far (I've only seen 5 of 8 to date.) I don't think it will win because it is up against academy-favored themes like social awareness (Selma), an extraordinary film project (Boyhood), and a popular current war story (American Sniper.
) GBH is quirky, entertaining and filled with interesting and humorous performances. It's a little off center but it's tongue-in-cheek fun.
