Review of The Grand Budapest Hotel (2014) by Shane S — 17 Apr 2016
Wes Anderson creates an engrossing and believable fantasy world. While the story telling was interesting and the set design and world building was brilliant, the show is a bit tedious at points. It still has all the makings of a classic and is a surprisingly multi-layered film.
You will feel captivated by this tale of loss and remembrance of things past, with all the emotional roll coaster that goes along with such a foray into one's memory. In this case the star of the show is a fading hotel slowly losing the shimmer of its once grand status.
