Review of The Grand Budapest Hotel (2014) by Areeque T — 30 Jun 2015
What may be his crowing achievement, The Grand Budapest Hotel employs the techniques and stylistic flourishes we have all come to expect from a Wes Anderson film. Not only is the film fun to look at through its immaculately crafted camera work and cotton candy color palate of soft pastels, I was also delighted by the ever so sharply written dialog.
With a barrage of characters both great and small, concerning their inclusion, Grand Budapest is both a sweeping and intimate portrayal of a bygone era and the love and friendship between two men told in the off beat and quirky way only Anderson could conjure.
