Review of The Graduate (1967) by Vijay S — 02 Jun 2011
The Graduate is slow yet so good. When watching The Graduate you can tell why this movie is a timeless classic. Dustin Hoffman gives an excellent performance, with this movie being his breakout role. Hoffman played his character just right, he got the awkwardness down perfectly, from the smirk to the stare.
Anne Bancroft plays that mom you always want to get to know a little more personally. Bancroft plays her role like she lives the character. It's excellent, she just about stands out in every scene she is in.
The best thing about the whole movie is, the directing and editing. The unique use of camera work and the amazing editing adds to the whole movie. The Graduate hits just the right spot to make it a timeless classic.
