Review of The Graduate (1967) by Myreview500 — 25 Dec 2020
I was 16 years old when the movie was released.
I thought it was a great movie and I still do, but I view it with a different perspective. There was one stupid scene in it.
Mrs. Robinson told Benjamin almost violently that he was not to date her daughter.
In spite of this he shows up at her house to take her daughter out on a date.
Now here is the stupid part:
Benjamin tells Mrs. Robinson that he's taking her out because his parents told him that he would have to host a party if he didn't. HOW INCREDIBLY STUPID.
AND.
Do you remember what Mrs. Robinson was doing in that scene?
She was watching TV. Do you remember what she was watching?
Johnny Caron on the Tonight Show.
That TV show was aired at 11:30pm around most of the country.
