Review of The Graduate (1967) by Ian M — 18 Jan 2011
While watching the film I was noticing that Ben kept talking to this older lady who turned out to be married. I did not see the beginning of the film so I was sort of surprised. While watching how Mrs. Robinson acts around Ben is odd, she is uptight and demanding. Mr. Robinson mentioned her daughter Elaine Robinson I was relieved because I did not want to see Ben with that old lady. Looking at how Ben and Elaine are controlled by their parents is crazy. Their parents are like sharks, they circle around them and watch there every move and want them to do what they want.
I really liked in the end when Elaine and Ben get together. It was funny because when Ben got to the church and started pounding on the glass the shape of his harms while doing this action reminded me of when jesus was on the cross, and of cours he was above the cross. I was also happy because Elaine broke free from her parents and wanted to be in love with Ben. In the end when they were riding the bus they were happy at first then their faces got serious as in like they did not know what to do now because they are together now but what do they do next? I want to know what they will do if they have kids? Are they going to mention their parents or ever see them again? I do not know but I want to see more!! I loved this film and I am going to watch it again.
