Review of The Goodbye Girl (1977) by Kristin M — 13 Jul 2007
I came into this movie partway as I was channel surfing. The movie really snagged me. I did not want to stop watching it. I did miss the first 15 minutes of the movie though.
The characters and the actors that played them were so flawed, but that was part of what made them so endearing. Richard Dreyfus gave an amazing and at times crazy performance es[especially when it came to his Richard III scene. Marcia Mason and Quinn Cummings did a great job as well.
The plot was well thought out and avoids some of the romantic comedy cliches. The characters are flushed out and three dimensional. The movie overall was captivating and pure entertainment.
