Review of The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (1966) by Ian C — 09 Feb 2015

For me this is the best Spaghetti Western of all time. It also has the greatest soundtrack of all time. The main theme is arguably the most of iconic piece of music ever used in a film. Combine that with some quality characters, a treasure hunt, comedy, violence, double crossing, battle scenes, a fantastic climax and Leone's use of 'Ecstasy of Gold' and in particular the stand-off with 'The Trio' ensures that this is the daddy of them all.

Also, rarely are Van Cleef or Eastwood upstaged by anyone in a flick and that is what happens here with Eli Wallach as Tuco.
