Review of The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (1966) by Zachary E — 12 Jun 2016
In terms of movie genres that we rarely see nowadays Western and Musicals seem to top the list though in terms of the western genres offerings this film is it's magnum opus, the third in the man with no name series, Clint Eastwood lovingly referred to as Blondie by Tuco so that the audience has some name to say, Clint Eastwood's performance in this film is perfection he is the pinnacle of coolness always in control always willing to do whatever he must, the highlight of this film comes right out of his mouth "You see, in this world there's two kinds of people, my friend: Those with loaded guns and those who dig.
You dig." This line coming right after the grand climax of what else a mexican standoff between the good, bad and ugly respectively. What happens before this is a wildly fun and interesting ride to get to this climax.
In it's day and age this was a masterpiece, but today it's a legend if there's a such thing as a perfect films this would definitely fit that bill for Westerns.
