I have seen films that extend up to 3 hours, but I have never felt a three hours that stretched as much as this. The Good, the bad and the ugly is one hell of an epic western with arguably the best special effects of the time, a simple example being the explosion of the bridge where rock particles scatter to everywhere and no 3D effects can provide such a spectacle. The story goes on and on with fine performances and the most notable one from Eli Wallach especially in the ending. The story is basically about the show off between The Good and The Ugly where The Bad although doesn't have much of a role is seen here and there. The opening scene with The Bad is so good that it inspired many including QT for Inglorious Basterds. My favourite western is 3:10 to Yuma and I will add The Good, The Bad and The Ugly to it.
