Review of The Good Son (1993) by Daniel I — 25 Sep 2007
Weird. Chilling and gritty. Culkin's only non-cute role as a child is mesmerizing as he slowly picks his way through his own family and attempts to kill those close to him. A child murderer is scarier than any other as there is clearly no explanation for his motives.
The mise en scene is woefully unforgiving and the final scene begs a question we must all try to answer.
