Review of The Good Son (1993) by Leonard D — 03 Sep 2016
Underrated disturbing thriller about a child who loses his mother and spends time with his relatives while his father looks for work. The child's cousin (Macaulay Culkin/Kevin from Home Alone) has a dark thirst for murder and begins developing during his cousins stay, using him as his scapegoat.
While critics thought these characters were to young to be informed about the themes the endure, I recall knowing a couple of kids like this when I was young. I think it was a very disturbing look at what children can be capable of and the old critics just didn't want to believe it in the time it was released.
The odd child is certainly capable of being this dark and reckless and this film portrays the beginning signs of what could be a becoming of a serial killer.
