Review of The Good Son (1993) by Ed O — 05 Sep 2016
There is a lot to like in this film. All the criticism of the young stars is unwarranted. It's actually the moronic adults in the cast that lessen the film. The setting is magnificent. The story is predictable but okay.
Nearly the entire time I watched it for the 2nd time, I was thinking how good it might be with a better director and a few story line tweaks. This movie could have been a classic with a Hitchcock like rendering.
Imagine a more subtle and intriguing ending.
