Review of The Good Girl (2002) by Viola N — 25 Nov 2009
I found this movie some years ago, watching television late at night, in one of those insipid days.
Actually it touched me a lot. The script, music, performances,(Jennifer Aniston is perfect, talent shows here. And Jake, as always, incredible).
For me it's like the purest reflection of the "blue" feeling, the emotional gray. Full of beautiful metaphors, clever dialogue that never gets out of that depressing and somewhat dreamy air of the film.
The end is incredible ... I admit that I cried during the last ten minutes.
Very, very recommendable.
Spoiler:
It's a pretty simple story... a girl who stopped believing in a filled life long ago with a simple husband, who never could understand their aspirations, their dreams, their desires. Meet a boy younger than herself, which represents all the idealism. She falls in love, but (for me) is so rooted, so used to his life insubstantial that is unable to leave it all to go into an uncertain future ...
