An ambitious film that unfortunately falls flat. Perhaps its tries to imitate a romanticeised era of films that can never be imitated. Perhaps it is the disturbing feeling of foresight they wouldn't have had during the time the movie is set.
I don't know. Tobey Maguire in particular has some very weak scenes.
