A taut thriller, shot in black and white, giving it the feel of a 40's style film noir. The dialogue was a little stilted, or maybe it was Mr Maguire's delivery that was wooden. He played a despicable little weasel who winds up dead.

Ms Blanchett sparkled as the damaged woman carrying a guilty secret. Loved her performance. Clooney was Clooney. Others gave adequate, but not great performances. I wanted to like this more, but found myself wishing it would be over some little while before it was.

Highlights a sad chapter in our history when the knowledge possessed by certain war criminals was more important than their crimes and justice took a back seat to expediency. Worth watching, but not one I will ponder for long.
